Other names :
(2,5-Dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-yl) methanol ; 2,5-Dimethyl-2-indanmethanol
Volatility :
Heart
Uses in perfumery :
White and transparent floral note, Lilyflore® is an ingredient with a very high volume. Used in trace and linked with other molecules of the Beyond Muguet collection (Florol®, Mayol®, Hivernal® neo), this raw ingredient allows to work on floral notes such as lily of the valley, lilac, gardenia and all other transparent flowers. Meanwhile, Lilyflore® brings a solar and musky touch, some would even say watery or lactonic, to your accords.
Beware of the volume of this ingredient, it is really very very important.
A very nice alternative to lyral®.

Natural availability :
Lilyflore® is not available in its natural state.
Year of discovery :
Patent N°1.022.265A1 (CH) filed on December 20, 1999 by Firmenich SA 1211 Geneva 8 under the name ''Dérivés du 2-indaneméthanol et leur utilisation à titre d’ingrédients parfumants ''
Inventors: Beat Winter & Philippe Schneider.
'Lilyflore®' trademark has been published and protected by Firmenich SA since 24/10/2001 (brand N°768080)
Other comments :
Lilyflore® is part of the Beyond Muguet collection presented by Firmenich in 2018. This collection, features the molecules Lyliflore®, Mayol®, Florol®, Hivernal® Neo and unveils a range of ingredients with fresh and luminous floral notes with unique olfactory profile, reminiscent of transparent flowers and lily of the valley.
Price Range :
€€€€
Stability :
Extremely stable over all types of application. (a major asset compared to other lily of the valley molecules which are generally not very stable because of their aldehyde function - lilyflore is an alcohol -> more stable)
Be careful however this ingredient can crystallize when it is pur and badly stored.
